Prevent Liberty tab going to sleep

Authors list

Modern browsers save on system resources by putting tabs into an inactive state after a certain amount of time.
When accessed, the tab will reload for the most up-to-date information.

For Liberty, this means the system will log you out and you would need to log in again.

To prevent this, we can exclude the site.

Chrome

  • Go to chrome://settings/performance

  • Find the section that states “Prevent these sites from going to sleep”

  • Select Add

  • Select the Liberty tab

  • Press Add again.

  • You can now close down the settings page and return to the liberty tab.

Microsoft Edge

  • Open edge://settings/system

  • Find the Optimize Performance section

  • Locate “Never put these sites to sleep”

  • Select Add

  • Enter http://liberty/* (There is a star at the end here)

  • Select Add again

  • You can now close down the settings page and return to the liberty tab.
